CNC turning with driven tools
Turned parts up to Ø 210 mm, finished complete in one setup — milling, drilling, threading and a counter spindle included.

What we do with it
A turned part that still needs milling afterwards has been clamped twice and paid for twice. Our mill-turn centres cut cross and axial holes, flats, splines and threads in the same setup — with a counter spindle, the back face too.
For small, long parts with tight runout we use sliding-head turning: the material is cut right at the guide bush, where it cannot deflect. That is the difference between 0.02 and 0.008 mm runout over 300 mm.
From bar to part
Material and process choice
Bar or billet, free-cutting or tempered steel, sliding-head or chuck. This decision is made before the quote and moves the price more than any other.
Setup
Tools preset off the machine. The machine stops to be set, not to be measured.
First article approval
Measured in full and documented. Only then does the series start.
Series with SPC
In-process measurement to the inspection plan, a control chart per critical characteristic. A trend is corrected before it reaches a limit.
Washing and packing
Aqueous degreased, preserved, in the agreed pack size. Class 8 cleanroom packing for medical work.

What we hold
Diameter ±0.006 mm, runout 0.008 mm, surface down to 0.2 µm Ra on a fine finishing pass. Above 10,000 pieces we run control charts and state the process capability index — at which point the claim is no longer "the parts were good" but "the process makes them good".

Common questions
From what quantity does turning pay here?
Economically from around 100 pieces. Below that we still make them, but setup dominates — milling from solid is often cheaper.
What diameters do you run?
Chuck to Ø 210 mm, bar to Ø 65 mm, sliding head to Ø 32 mm over 320 mm of length.
Do you cut gears?
Hobbing and polygon turning yes, gear grinding no. What we cannot do we say, and we name someone who can.
How do you hold quality over 100,000 pieces?
A control chart per critical characteristic, tool life monitoring, automatic offset correction — and a full measurement at every shift change.
Do you deliver on call-off?
Yes. A framework order with call-offs and safety stock is the normal case for series parts, not the exception.
