One-offs and very small batches in days rather than weeks. When the race date is fixed, lead time is the specification.
What the sector demands
In motorsport the date is not negotiable and the quantity is small. Together that makes the part expensive — which is fine, as long as it arrives. Two machines stay outside the series schedule for exactly this.
Most work is 7075 and Ti-6Al-4V, often from models without a complete drawing. We then default to ISO 2768-f and mark what we assumed — every assumption appears in the inspection report.
